Bring-a-friend month!

It seems that this time of year the numbers fall away - partly due to the cold weather, partly exams, partly tax time, mostly the cold weather! There have been weeks when we've struggled to cover the parts (sop-alt-ten), and although those weeks are enjoyable for their intimacy and the different sound we have, it would also be helpful if we knew as a group we'd always have the harmonies covered.

So - August (and even this last little bit of July!) is Bring-a-friend for FREE Month! (or make them pay you $2.50, you could make a $5 profit in a fortnight! woo-hoo!)

Go out there and grab a buddy, and come along my friends, come along...

Upcoming gigs

Updating you on our performance committments - I've recklessly volunteered you to sing this Saturday July 28th in Springwood around 10am for a 'Make Poverty History' event, more details as soon as I get them. Because of the v short notice, we'll do the St Hilda's Winter Magic songs again and hope it's a different crowd!

We also have the Blackheath Choir Festival coming up, for which we'll need to be much better prepared.. More than a dozen (I think?) choirs from around the mountains will be participating, so it will be fun to be part of. We're on at 11am on Sat Aug 25th.

This Wed. we'll decide what to sing at Blackheath and will also have a go at sharing the conducting around - I'd really like everyone to have a go at standing out the front, even if it's just on Wed nights. You won't be expected to know every part or to get it right first off, but hopefully this will be (a) a chance to have some fun and (b) first steps towards having members of the group conduct performances in the future.

Thanks to the hardy souls who braved the cold last week, as always I enjoyed your company tremendously! Hope to see the rest of you this week..?
